Phison memory controllers to support 1Gbit MRAM

Phison controllers help deliver solid-state drives protection against power loss without the use of supercapacitors or batteries.
Phison is a market leader in NAND flash controllers and ships more than 600 million controllers annually. Emerging memories, including MRAM, are starting to displace NAND flash in these applications.
"As enterprise SSD manufacturers seek smaller form factors and increased performance, STT-MRAM delivers high-speed, non-volatile write buffer which enables higher performance and storage density," said Rizwan Ahmed, vice president of marketing at Everspin, in a statement.
